“inuit throat singing haikus in handicap washroom with the janitor”

    oh aj.

  2. AJ Valliant Says:

What? The accoustics are great in there.

  3. thekenji Says:

    “Clams of exceeding dignity”

My first thought was: God AJ, learn to proofread your material more. You spelt calms as “clams”.

But then I kept reading… and yes, yes indeed it’s clams of exceeding dignity. I should’ve known better than to doubt you.

  4. I would sooo pay a nickel to see a grown man throw himself down stairs!

(AJ: I emailed you a gift)

  5. Jive Says:

As always your razor sharp perception and refusal to be confined by such antiquated notions as rationality inspires and entertains

  6. David Kehoe Says:

“Totem Animal: Hair lipped aardvark with a delinquent condo co-payment. ”

I can only assume that said Aardvark is also late with the alimony to his ex-wife that he still follows around sometimes. Hopefully he find some work soon or it’s time to hit the poison ant jar.

  7. Andy the Aardvark (AJ's spirit animal) Says:

Oh ya, lets all poke fun at the spirit animal with a birth defect.

I’m addicted to pain killers too, anyone want to laugh about that?

Really classy AJ, really classy. Good fucking luck next time you take a crazy chemically induced astral voyage, cause Andy the motherfucking aardvark ain’t gonna be there to bail you out!

You misspelled claims as calms. :)

    and it’s spelled, not spelt.

    Your friendly neighbourhood grammar nazi.

  9. NotMike Says:

@engtech: You’re the reason we’ve got fewer irregular verbs in the English language than we did a hundred years ago. That, and A.J.’s forty-dollar time travel special.

‘Spelt’ is perfectly acceptable; moreso, even, than the dumbed-down regularization ‘spelled’.

  10. engtech Says:

Yes, but spelt is a type of wheat. The word does not mean what you think it does.

  11. AJ Valliant Says:

Spelt is both wheat and a proper variation of Spelled.
And this site is the last place to be having arguments about proper word usage/spelling.

    spell 1 (spěl) Pronunciation Key
    v. spelled or spelt (spělt), spell·ing, spells

    v. tr.

To name or write in order the letters constituting (a word or part of a word).
To constitute the letters of (a word): These letters spell animal.
To add up to; signify: Their unwise investment could spell financial ruin.

  12. engtech Says:

    kenji started it :)

Turns out that ‘spelt’ is the British past tense of ‘to spell’ while ’spelled’ is the American past tense.

I wonder why the Firefox spell checker shows it up as a mistake? I guess it uses American by default?

  13. engtech Says:

This explains how to change your dictionaries in Firefox:

It also gives a list of common computer terms and companies from Wikipedia. Going to have to try that out.

Wow…the comments on this post went downhill faster than AJ faceplanted into the third floor landing in his office building during two for one tuesday.

I do sometimes wonder where you come up with this stuff…marine life, I ask you?
