Bottled Water News

July 28, 2007

So, a while back I shared my thoughts on the glorious bottled water industry.

This morning I noted the following article, and just had to share it with you all.

Added to my numerous issues with bottled water, is now the knowledge that the process by which some companies ‘filter’ the tap water they bottle can be as inefficient at 5 to 1, that is to say that as many as five liters of our tap water can be needed to produce one liter of ‘purified’ water.

Absolutely fucking amazing.

  1. You could really save alot of money with Dehydrated Water

They are even giving out free samples!

  2. w0rmwood Says:

Wow, now thats a great company.

A blend of 27 different kinds of water, now thats kuality!

I wonder if the hot Asian girl in the bottom left corner of the website comes with the water…

  3. Jive Says:

It’s hard to know what to say to someone selling dehydrated water on the internet… that’s like selling sugar free sugar or non-metallic gold. The website claims to be paypal certified but clearly it has not been IQpal certified.

Access to safe drinking water should be a human right because without it life is impossible. When we forget how precious it is and take it for granted because we are blessed with so much of it in this country we will be screwed.

People who wish to control water for profit are worse than crack dealers who sell to 8 year olds.

  4. I’m thinking they get all their money from tshirts and stickers :)

We should totally start a website selling recycled dinosaur pee. That’s what water is, ya know.
    You with me, w0rmykins?

  5. w0rmwood Says:

I dunno bagel, I think the water market might be all used up.

How about bottled air? Its starting to catch on.

We could sell dinosaur air, or air from different locations.

“Want to travel, but cant afford it? Buy a can of Worm & Bagel’s authentic exotic air products. Breath deeply of the African Horn, or let you nostrils quiver as the suck back the air from a Vietnamese Whorehouse. Wherever you’ve never been, we can sell you something from!”

  6. engtech Says:

I want to try out one of those H2O bars.

    What is wrong with me?

  7. Perri-Air!

    Mel Brooks FTW!

  8. engtech Says:

Mel Brooks beats paper, rocks and scissors. It’s complicated to get your fingers into the Mel Brooks shape, but it’s worth it to see the expression on their face when they see you whipped out a Mel Brooks and they didn’t do an Al Brooks to counter.

Oh, and I just discovered this cool blog, which kind of makes me look like an idiot:

  9. Esmerelda Sconeflinger Says:

    from the dehydrated water FAQ:

“I urinate too frequently. Will it help me with that?
Response: No, stop drinking a case of beer every day and that should help. If compulsive urination persists, contact your doctor.

“Is this product thicker than blood? If so, will it dissolve the Mafia and other family owned businesses, reverse inbreeding, stop ‘ethnic cleansing’, etc?”
Response: We are testing this at the present time.

  10. Eng: That site is awesome! We really have to step up our game!
BTW: I’m still waiting for muh lolmycat linklove!

  11. thekenji Says:

I actually hate the taste of bottled water.

Not enough chlorine and fluorine and that little bit of lead-copper-polyethylene to add taste!

In any case the other horrible obsession in our society are the green grass suburban lawns that require massive amounts of water to keep alive. Drinkable water. For front lawns that are rarely used for anything whatsoever.

You know sometimes I feel like our Passive Depressives get a little dark and cruel but then I realize I’m in the real world…..

  12. engtech Says:

every time I read PD I want to give you a hug and make the bad touch feeling go away.

  13. w0rmwood Says:

Democracy now may be quick, but Beats Entropy is quicker.

Remember kids, you heard it here first.
